The mission of the AEDC is to competitively position Ankeny as a premier central U.S. business location and to aggressively market Ankeny’s business location opportunities to generate existing business expansions/retentions and targeted new business investments that will create professional and technical high-wage employment opportunities and diversify and balance the tax base. The AEDC will accomplish its mission in collaboration and cooperation with its local, regional, state and utility economic development partners.

• Proactive marketing efforts to promote the Ankeny community to new and expanding businesses, leading to additional and diverse tax base.
• Advocate business interests in public policy at the local, state and federal levels.
• Investor representation on Team Ankeny, a new committee designed to coordinate public issues at the local level.
• Assistance in accessing financial incentives for business expansion, including grant writing and project management through the various economic development partners.
• Networking opportunities through membership meetings and the annual Salute to Industry.
