Interstate Accessibility
Ankeny’s advantageous location at the intersection of Interstates 35 and 80 provides the ideal environment for business. If its warehousing, distribution or any business wanting a "billboard" location along the interstate, Ankeny is a prime location.

Highway Accessibility
Highway 69 runs north/south through the heart of Ankeny. Highway 65 is just 10 minutes east.

Air Transportation
The Ankeny Regional Airport is one of the fast-growing airports in the Federal Aviation Administration’s four-state region. In 2004, the Ankeny airport was ranked as the third busiest in Iowa by the FFA, with more than 65,000 takeoffs and landings. Today more than 130 planes and helicopters are based at the airport with 35% of those involved in corporate travel. The surrounding business parks offer "through the gate service" on some of their parcels.

Commercial air service is available at Des Moines International Airport, just 20 minutes south of Ankeny. Airlines serving the area include Allegient Air, America West, American Airlines, American Eagle, Chicago Express, Continental Express, Comair, Northwest Airlines, Midwest Express, Mesaba Airlines, Skyway Airlines and United Airlines.

Rail Transportation
Union Pacific mainline services the community. Sites are available that could be served by rail.

Bus Service
Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) provides bus service to the community.
