Electrical/Natural Gas
Electrical service is provided to the community by MidAmerican Energy Company.

Natural gas is provided by MidAmerican with some areas of the community being served by Consumers Energy. The natural gas supplier is Northern Natural Gas Company.

Water/Wastewater
Both of these services are provided by Des Moines Water Works with the water source being the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers.

Water has an above ground storage capacity of 500,000 gallons. The capacity of the water plant is 115,000,000 GPD. Average Consumption is 3,689,721 GPD and Peak Consumption is 8,740,546 GPD.

Average Load for the sewage treatment plant is 3,784,083 GPD and Design Capacity is 12,000,000 GPD.

Telecommunications
Telephone service is provided to Ankeny by Qwest Communications, AT&T, MCI, Sprint, Iowa Telecom and McLeod. Internet service is available through several providers with broadband service available throughout the community.
