Natural gas is provided by MidAmerican with some areas of the community being served by Consumers Energy. The natural gas supplier is Northern Natural Gas Company.

Both of these services are provided by Des Moines Water Works with the water source being the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers.
Telecommunications
Internet service is available through several providers with fiber service available throughout the community. Telephone service is provided to Ankeny by Century Link, Iowa Network Services, Windstream and Mediacom.
